My name is Karlo Hecimovic.
My love story with crystals began by chance, but I stopped believing in coincidences long ago. After bringing my first few crystals back from Mexico, I felt their energy for the first time — not just their beauty, but something deeper. It was as if my perspective on life quietly shifted, opening into a more expansive and intuitive way of seeing the world.
I became fascinated by the magic they carry and felt a strong desire to share that feeling with others. That impulse became the foundation of Kalyss.
The name symbolises the love and gratitude shared between my dog Alyssa and me — a bond rooted in loyalty, presence, and connection. It’s that same intention I aim to translate into every piece I create: objects that hold meaning, memory, and a sense of something timeless.

Our production is never outsourced. Every step takes place in our workshop, where each piece is shaped, refined, and finished by hand. This close, hands-on process allows us to focus on detail, proportion, and presence — ensuring that what we create feels considered, personal, and lasting.

Forged to mark half a decade of the KALYSS atelier, Aethel stands as our flagship 5-Year Anniversary Masterpiece—a monumental study in light, scale, and organic architecture. It captures five years of refined craftsmanship, elevated gem-sourcing, and fluid 18k solid gold sculpture into a single, unrepeatable statement.
The Composition
The Center Drop: Cradled in a hand-forged, molten 18k gold bezel lies an extraordinary 7.11-carat pear-cut diamond (E Color, VVS2 Clarity). Its cut yields exceptional scintillation, anchored by a deep 0.50ct natural Zambian emerald prized for its intense, vivid green saturation.
The Diamond & Pearl Strand: Flowing around the neck is a continuous, light-refracting strand composed of 25 carats of precision-faceted diamond beads subtly rhythmed with luminous freshwater pearls, 50 custom-cast 18k gold rondelle spacers, and an asymmetric, raw Herkimer diamond accent.
The Hardware: Secured by our signature hand-carved 14k gold KALYSS toggle closure, custom-weighted to balance the grand drop perfectly along the collarbone.
Atelier Provenance & Craft
Handcrafted in our Berlin studio to celebrate 5 years at the bench, Aethel required over 40 hours of master lapidary work, custom bezel setting, and delicate tension-stringing. Released strictly as a 1-of-1 milestone archive piece, it comes complete with a dedicated Certificate of Provenance and is delivered in a custom KALYSS presentation display case.
